On Saturday, June 30th at the Phelps County Fair Grounds in Rolla, there will be a live band for Contra Dancing, food and fun for the entire family, and raffle drawings throughout the evening. This event is hosted by The Ishaya Foundation, a non-profit organization located just north of St James.
Jim Thaxter is an experienced Contra Dance caller who will guide the participants of all ages through a variety of dances. No problem if you don’t have a partner as most dances are performed in 2 lines. Beginners and dance enthusiasts are all invited to join in the fun!
• 6:00 pm: Food and drinks for purchase; fun activities; view raffle items & buy tickets.
• 7:00 pm: Contra Dance beginners’ lesson
• 7:30 pm: Dance begins, with raffle drawings throughout the evening
• 11:00 pm: Grand Prize Drawing
Adult Admission: $6-8
Child admission: $5
